The Journey Begins

This will arrive on Wednesday (Hallelujah!):
I decided some time ago to major in photography. Since I take my classes online, this presented a bit of a problem. But, after much research I've found a course that will be the right fit. I'll still be attending CBC (well, I'll finish my AA next year finally!), but I'm also going to take the professional photography online course from New York Institute of Photography. It's a certificate program instead of a Bachelor's program, but it is still an accredited school. They offer basically the same curriculum (minus the general courses) and for about $70,000 less. (That's always a plus). Anyway, so I ordered my camera and a total of three lenses and I'll be ready to begin! I'm starting this blog strictly for my photography "stuff" in order to keep it separate from my family blog. My focus is portrait photography and eventually I'd like to run my own business/studio, but until then I may need some volunteers.:) I'll be posting all of my work here, so feel free to take a look. And for all of you photographers out there.....critique away!

We are great guniea pigs:)! That is awesome that you are pursuing this. I would love to learn how to be a good photographer but all the settings and stuff overwhelm me! Good luck!

How exciting! I took a non-credit photography class a couple years ago while we were living in Vancouver. It was a lot of fun and I learned a lot, but would have learned more had I had a fancy camera like you're getting. Good luck with it! We'd love to be your guniea pigs too when we're up there!

.You know I'm always a sitting cuck. After all it's your photo on facebook and I've had a lot of good comments on it. Goodluck.

Good luck Bri! I love photography and one day I'll actually have a really good camera to do it with. I've been told my experience trying to get good pictures with a less-than-stellar camera is good experience! I sure hope so!

Awesome. I have to say I am a little jealous. Although I did take a couple photography classes at art school, if I hadn't gone the route of graphic designer I would have been a photographer. We will model for you any time!!!!
